However, there is a psychiatrist in the medication clinic who is absolutely 100% awful. They will not listen to you, they will not pay attention to you and I was put on a medication that turned me into an absolute zombie for three months. This doctor's prescriptions tend to be archaic or old-fashioned and are not up to date with current medical research. Avoid them at all costs. Their last name starts with a K - if you are assigned to them, ask to be assigned to someone else. Also, this particular professional is extremely -unprofessional- and asks inappropriate questions that have nothing to do with the treatment or medication. It was insisted that I would react violently to stimulant medication designed to treat my diagnosis of ADHD. This has 100% not been the case, as I have been prescribed stimulants by the other doctor in residence there and have been productive and well-balanced since being placed on them. Also, the studies for this research are based on old data primarily tested on low-functioning autistic individuals.
THE LAST PLACE YOU WANT TO GO!!! Unless you have absolutely no other choice. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU!!! Quite the opposite. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
Relatively easy to schedule appointments. Reception and intake staff are friendly enough, if somewhat overtaxed and overworked. Seating areas are typically noisy with children, so bring headphones.
Worst experience with a psychiatrist. It surprised me that this doctor even be considered a "professional". She forgot what medications I was taking and refused to take me off of a medication that was giving me suicidal thoughts and tryed to tell me I could never stop taking this and could not replace it with a different brand (which is totally false, I am no longer on it and feel loads better). Visits with her felt rushed and unorganized.
The other psychiatrist there is perfectly reasonable and seems to be fairly friendly, if not busy.
Horrible. They constantly cancel my son's appointments. We are always waiting an hour and a half to 2 hours past the appointment time. Then the doctor spends maybe 15 minutes with you, even when you have serious concerns. The staff in general is often rude.
My therapist is absolutely lovely and it's a shame I have to give this place one star. However, Dr. K is awful. Come for the therapy, STAY AWAY FROM THE PSYCHIATRIST. She's the type who gives a bad name to the great psychiatrists out there. She makes it pretty clear that she does not care about your needs and concerns, which is really bad when it comes to medication that changes your brain chemistry.
